March 2024 members communique

Your TRCAA committee met on Monday 18th of March and some of us were pretty tired after competing at ATR's Lake Mountain Sprint on the weekend but we got it done in a timely fashion.

The meeting covered these points:

  • ATR kindly allowed Greg Burrowes to speak at the Lake Mountain Sprint drivers briefing and provide an update on what TRCAA has been doing and will be doing in the immediate future.  Thank you, ATR.

  • TRCAA exists for one purpose and that is to do all we can to ensure tarmac rally continues well into the future in a format that appeals to:  event promoters, competitors, sponsors, and the public, while reducing risk where it is practical to do so.

  • The new TRCAA website has launched thanks to a lot of work by Ben Manion.  It's still a work in progress but we needed to get it live before the annual subscription to the previous host fell due.  More news & member content to come.

  • Every member will need to reset their password (& you can use your old one).  The passwords on the old site did not come across.  Visit https://www.trcaa.org.au/members#myaccount or Members — Tarmac Rally Competitors Association of Australia (trcaa.org.au) and choose Request Password.  Please do this ASAP so you are included in future communications.

  • When you have your new password, Choose Review, Upgrade or Update Billing to set your card details for renewal and Save them.  You can cancel this anytime.

  • The committee discussed getting the views of the competitors in front of the Coroners hearing in August.  As I said at the drivers briefing, this is the primary task for TRCAA in our near future.

  • Committee member - Ben Manion discovered that TRCAA has about 130 expired memberships and we think this is because our renewal process needs an update.  The new website host has a very good renewal process and we encourage you to use the auto-renewal feature, so you don’t become lapsed 😊.  You can cancel your renewal at any time.

  • Your $50 a year membership payments only fund the overheads of running TRCAA.  Your committee is purely voluntary.
